the woods is king.
it's being alone surrounded by dense woodland, damp trees and cold air in midwinter, and freshly chopped wood that you've spent all day stacking and finally dragging yourself inside to sit by the fire with drinks that thaw and burn your insides.
it also smells like 3am in winter, walking along karangahape rd, sometimes hand in hand, sometimes not, wearing far too little clothing for the weather but the adrenaline and the intoxication of being around each other and in the night means u don't notice until you're enveloped in their warmth when they stop, pull you down to sitting, your head on their shoulder, breathing them in, dizzy.
