Dairy Flowers, in collaboration with Ensemble to celebrate their fifth birthday, romanticises the dash round the corner to your local dairy for a small selection of flowers that "will do" for the occasion.
It's an homage to Ensemble events, and the purchase of a bunch of dairy flowers to be separated into singular stems dotted around the venue. It's not the grandiosity that you might have hoped for but it does require greater thought, more care and consideration to decide just where each stem will go to say: this is special and a beautiful moment and it is mine. In the words of Olivia Dean, it isn't perfect, but it might be.
It smells like turning up to Ponsonby Rd a little too early for a third date, walking past that dairy with all the flowers outside and carefully selecting the flower that's not too much, but just enough to suggest something to your date. It's classic, but it's understated, a spontaneous, "i like you," said out loud with a smile.
A winter wander, on the way to a friends house who is going through it, coming across a selection of dairy flowers and thinking, this is what they need. If only to lighten things just a little.

Ingredients
Sybs candles are made using pure soy wax, which contains no paraffins or parabens, as well as phthalate-free fragrance oils.
Care Instructions
How to ensure you get the most out of your candle and ensure your own and other's safety:
- Ensure you light your candle on a heatproof surface and with no hazards such as curtains, plants or paper close by.
- It's also important to minimise the amount of breeze, particularly for the first burn.
- The first time you light your candle, ensure that you allow it to burn long enough to melt right to the edges of the candle jar. This prevents tunnelling and means that your candle will always melt to this point.
- Never leave your candle unattended, particularly around children and pets.
- Do not burn your candle for longer than four hours at a time.
- Ensure that you trim your wick to approximately 5mm in length before you light it, to prevent smoke and an overly large flame.
For wood wick candles only:
- When you first light your wood wick, you'll want to turn it on it's side and run the flame of a lighter (not a match) along the top of the wick to ensure an even catch.
- It's likely you will need to do this two-three times before it lights properly.
